It’s easy to join Nudist Nation. Just go to the bottom of the homepage, enter your email address, choose a site language underneath, and click the “Register” button. After that, you’ll just fill out some basic information and click the “Create Account” button. You’ll receive an email when your registration is approved. After that, you’re ready to set up your profile and share your naturist/nudist life! Be sure to add a profile picture in the top left circle. Tell the community a little about yourself. This could include info like how long you’ve been a naturist, whether you are in a relationship, the types of locations you like to visit, or the kind of people you hope to meet on the site. You also have your own picture upload gallery to use for the site. The menu link is on the left side. You can create separate albums for beach visits, hiking trails, bike riding, meetups with friends, etc. Or you can just put all your pictures into one album. Go to the “Menu” drop-down at the top and choose “People” so you can start following and friending other users (requires payment of processing fee to get standard membership). You will be signed up to automatically follow my account and see all my public posts. Once you start following others, you’ll see their public posts as well.

From your profile, you can make public and private posts where you have access to font formatting, web link insertion, lists, tables, block quotes, emojis, and picture upload. You can also post polls and invite other users to nudist events. There is also a wall filter you can use to narrow down the type of posts you are looking for. See the screenshot above for most of the filter options. Similar to many social networking sites, you have your own wall. But you can also click on “Nudist Nation” on the top left or click on the “Menu” drop-down up top and select “Dashboard” to view the main site page where you’ll see all posts from yourself and anyone you follow or have friended. The dashboard is a great place to discover new naturist content. I like to make public posts of naturist videos from all walks of life on here for members to watch. This includes videos from my Natural Nomad naturist travel series on Vimeo! I have set up Nudist Nation to automatically show video embeds from YouTube, Vimeo, and Dailymotion. You can help the club members to learn about naturism around the world by finding great videos and articles and posting them on the site.

There are a number of spaces (groups) you can join on Nudist Nation. We currently have Family Nudists, Premium Membership (explained later in this article), NaturalWiki (Official guide to destinations, events, and organizations), Naturist Travels, Nude & Tattooed, Natural Nomad (My video series), Naked Gamers, Artistic Nudes, and more. As a standard member, you can join some of these spaces. If you become a Premium member, you can start and run your own space.

To find new friends on the site, go to the “People” page and review the member listing. You can search for specific individuals by keywords, narrow selection to standard or Premium members, those who follow you or not, the most recent logins, gender, and country. You may have noticed the green leaf next to my name in the screenshot below. That indicates that the person has become a Premium member of the site. It also means they get the following special access perks: can create public & private spaces, add to and edit NaturalWiki (official site guide to worldwide naturist destinations, events, and organizations), and a premium uploads membership on NudeTube (the only nudist video hosting site in the world). Today, most of us live busy lives. We’re commuting to full-time jobs, going to colleges classes, spending hours posting and chatting on social media, doing errands, etc. When the majority of Americans go home, they’re still wearing their clothes. Most textiles are wearing pajamas or underwear to bed. They wear a towel to cover up when going to the shower. This is all foreign to nudists. When we get home, we want to enjoy life naturally. Those of us with spouses, kids, and nudist friends are used to everyone in the home being nude. That’s normal. Unfortunately, most of us can’t just walk out the door and grab the mail or mow the lawn nude. Our neighbors would report us to the police and we’d get cited for indecency. Is that really the kind of country we want to live in? No, but change takes time. It would be a big step forward if outdoor nudity was allowed on our own property across the country. Ideally, you could walk to the mailbox, host a pool party, mow the lawn, paint your house, garden, or hold a BBQ with everyone being nude.

How can the nudist community in the US begin to improve things? We can start by contributing guest articles about nudism on mainstream sites, create blogs with great photos and articles, organize petitions to get laws changed, stop posting our nudist photos with emojis and blank spots on our faces, put up lawn signs/door magnets/window stickers with the international naturist symbol to indicate that we have nudist households, open private naturist parks, and create new video programs and podcasts revolving around nudism. That may sound like a lot but you could do just one of those things to start with. The nudist community also needs to address the problem of almost all nudist social media sites being 18+. One of the keys to the future of nudism in this country is involving teens in our online and offline communities. We need to include them in our overall conversation and allow them to participate in the nudist experience. Of course, this means that our online communities will need stricter moderation. Our natural lifestyle is for all ages and backgrounds. If we want to grow nudism in America, we need to be more public with it and engage with those seeking a more natural life.

While the expansive views of the ferry ride and beach are beautiful, a naturist adventure here will take up most of the day. First, you have to book a ticket on the Capt. Pete ferry which is operated by Ship Island Excursions. They’ve been ferrying people back and forth for almost 100 years. Their dock is located at the Gulfport Yacht Harbor in Jones Park in Gulfport, MS. Trips to the island are available from mid-March to October. As of 2022, the cost for a single ticket for the 22 mile round trip is approximately $43. The ferry ride to the island takes around one hour. There is a small selection of drinks and snacks available on the ferry. There are also separate bathrooms for men and women.

The process for buying my ticket, parking at the dock, and getting onto the vessel went smoothly. I thought it was all handled professionally and was a pleasant experience. I showed up around 45 minutes before departure and secured a close parking spot. I waited with others for the dock gate to open. I had been emailed a digital ferry ticket that could be scanned by the boarding agent. But they just asked me what my name was and let me through without seeing the ticket. I assume this works in most cases unless you have a very common name. I would estimate there were around 50 people riding the ferry when I went in September. There were quite a few families. A lot of the ticket holders seemed to be from the general area. There were some tourists with foreign accents. Most of the people seemed to enjoy the boat ride. There were a couple instances of dolphins near the boat. There were also quite a few seagulls which enjoyed flying alongside the ferry. They would glide along the length of the boat, circle out, and fly back in. The ferry seemed to be adequately staffed by people wearing a company shirt. There were also life jackets stored underneath the rows of seats in case of an emergency. We arrived at the island dock after an hour or so. The first building I passed was Fort Massachusetts. I was focused on getting pictures and video of the naturist experience, so I skipped touring the fort. I ended up being the first person to leave the main beachfront. I was also the first to take my all my clothes off.

When I first set out on my walk east, I planned on reaching the end of the island. The idea was to get to the tip, lay down and relax, and walk back to the dock. As it turned out, it takes too long to walk the length of the island and safely get back for the 2:30pm departure time. I arrived on the beach around 10:15am but wanted to get food on my way back. If it had been a couple months before and I chose a 5pm departure, I could have easily walked the length of the island with time to spare. I traversed around 70% of the length of the island. Even though it was in the fall, it was quite hot. It’s a good thing I brought a bottle of sun lotion. If I hadn’t, I would have been toast. This is actually a barrier island and can help protect the inland coastline. In 1969, Hurricane Camille tore through and separated the island into east and west pieces. From 2019 to 2020, the US Army Corps of Engineers executed the Ship Island Restoration Project. They put tons of sand in between the two halves of the island to restore it as one land mass. This was the reason I was able to walk the majority of the island. The thing that surprised me the most about the landscape was how much trash had washed up on shore. I found everything from bottles to shoes to a chair! That was quite disappointing. Otherwise, the views were spectacular. You can see amazing cloud formations in their entirety, lots of shells, plant life, birds, and crabs running in and out of the ocean.

As you can see in the above picture, it’s a peaceful place with nobody around. In fact, the only other naturists I encountered were a couple who set up chairs and an umbrella after the visible bend of the island. I would estimate it took them 25 minutes to walk to where they were. I saw them on my way back. We waved to each other. If I had more time, I would have stopped by and talked with them. I was eager to get back and get something to eat and drink before departure. I had worn hiking boots with arch support. The sand was quite hot and I walked for hours. I applied my sun lotion twice. I also had three bottles of water. I ended up using all of them during my visit. If you are going here as a family, I would recommend walking around 20 minutes to the left of the main setup of blue chairs and umbrellas and find a spot. You’ll be far enough where you won’t be bothering the textiles. There’s really not any need to walk further than that with kids. Also, you will be fairly close to the snacks and bathrooms. Before I boarded the ferry back to the mainland, I grabbed a grilled chicken wrap and a drink at the snack bar. The price and service were good. If you don’t mind spending most of the day to travel and relax in the sun, this is a great location for naturists. I would definitely recommend at least going here once. I give Ship Island a B+ rating.

Joining subreddits is the easy part when it comes to becoming a member of particular Reddit communities. The hard part is sorting the real naturists from the posers. To start with, you might want to try subreddits like r/NakedAdventures, r/naturism, r/naturists, r/NudistMeetup, and r/nudists. These particular communities offer a space where you can share your naturist photos, videos, and experiences. The people posting come from different places, backgrounds, and age groups. Generally speaking, posters are mostly Caucasian and around their 20s to 50s. Remember, naturism/nudism is what YOU make it. If you are part of a different demographic and want to see more representation online, you should make the difference yourself. Don’t wait for someone else to do it. I can guarantee there are other people from a similar background to you who have thought about posting a natural picture of themselves but decided not to. If you put yourself out there, that might be what it takes for that procrastinator to join one of these communities and share their naturist life.

What’s next? Join some of the communities I mentioned above on Reddit. Make sure you read the rules for each subreddit in the column on the right hand side. Some spaces are more focused on pictures. Other spaces want more of a mix between picture posts and text posts. Your posts should always be non-sexual and not focused on one part of the body. The idea is that you are going to share a moment or lesson from your all natural life with interested folks. Remember, stay positive. You are showing others that the clothes-free lifestyle is the way to go. There are so many possibilities for sharing photos of yourself on Reddit. You could be at home, at the beach, hiking, in a lake, in a pool, over a friend’s BBQ, lounging at a nudist resort, and many other places. By sharing moments from your nude life, you’ll be supporting the movement towards society becoming more tolerant towards nudity. There aren’t nearly enough places where you can be nude in public. By sharing pictures and videos of ourselves enjoying our happy and free lifestyle, we can show the textile world that nudism is wholesome and healthy.

Next, I’d like to talk about interaction on these subs. If you are familiar with Reddit, you know that a large part of this site is using the upvote or downvote feature on posts. If I see an authentic naturist post on one the subs I follow, I will upvote it. If I see a fake naturist post, I downvote it. For example, it might be a user who posts a seemingly innocent nude photo of themselves in the woods. But if you click on their profile, you see that it is from a shoot that has a sexual theme and they mention in another post that you should pay to see their OnlyFans. Another example of a less than sincere post on a strictly naturist sub would be a guy who posts a shot of just their erection. That gets an automatic downvote and I block their profile. As a viewer looking at other posts, you should be asking yourself one basic question: “Is this post an authentic view of the naturist lifestyle that positively adds to our community?” This isn’t rocket science. If a woman posts her nude photo in the naturist hiking section and mentions that she was feeling slutty, this is a faker. If a guy posts his nude photo in an outdoor nudist section but he is fully erect, this is a faker. In my opinion, you should downvote these posts and block the user. You should also make a determination on how you approach posts by people who seem to be legit nudists but who blur or put an emoji on their face. It is my opinion that these types of posts do not help the nudist cause at all. I would rather see the posts where the head isn’t showing than an emoji pasted on their face.

The second part of this has to do with commenting and chats. I would certainly encourage you to comment on posts you see from genuine nudists. If you only upvote pictures, that only goes so far in terms of interaction. Talking with other nudists on these subs helps bring our worldwide community together. You never know who you might meet. They could become your best nudist friend. There are also nudists looking to meet up and hang out. You might just happen to be vacationing or on a trip where they live. Keep your eyes open and talk with others to make friends. On a personal note, I often run into the phenomenon of real nudists ghosting me on chat when trying to set up a meeting or collaboration. It’s going to happen. You can either stay connected to their profile or disconnect. Often, you will get people making really inappropriate comments on your uploaded shots. You will need to decide what you are and aren’t comfortable with. Unfortunately, you will also get random creeps sending you gross chat messages. You might also get benign messages. But when you click on their profile, you see it is full of nasty stuff. I just block them right away. That takes care of that problem. Reddit makes it easy to block people. If you do this on a weekly basis, it will really help clean up your feed.

Lastly, when thinking about joining a specific sub on Reddit, make sure to look over everything on their page. There should be a summary on the upper right which describes how they see their community. This “about” section will tell you what kind of posts they want and what they don’t want on there. Check at the bottom of this box to see how many users the community has overall and the number of members currently on. If the group has been around for ten years and has 300 users, there’s not going to be a lot of activity. For instance, r/nudists has been around for over 12 years and has more than 57,000 members. That is a very active community. Some of the nudist communities will let you tag your posts as [OC] which means original content. This indicates to viewers that you didn’t upload a nude pic of someone else. Of the subs that I listed earlier, you can choose to tag your post with flair. This is a descriptive tag that has been designed for the nudist community. Examples could be male, female, couple, video, vintage, state, country, etc. If you are in Nudist Meetup and are a woman in France looking for a female friend nearby, you could tag your post with the France option. When people are looking at new posts on that feed, they will see that your post is tagged with France. As I said earlier, you should also review the rules of a sub. These are also listed on the right side. Some groups have strict rules and others don’t. Most real nudist communities will clearly state that no sexual posts are allowed. When you post on these subs, you should act like you are representing nudism. That means sharing your natural life in a truthful and positive way. It might be scary to put yourself out there as a nudist. But you’re not alone. There are millions of others in our worldwide community. In order to fully embrace your nudist identity, post your photos and videos showing your face. It will help others to do the same and show the public that nudism is natural and healthy. Good luck!

The Ledges was the first destination on my naturist wish list. I had read many positive reviews on Tripadvisor and other sites from both one time visitors and regulars. I drove there via Brattleboro. The trip ended up being bumpier than expected. The main route was being dug up and repaved. In fact, the temporary gravel was so rough, I ended up with vibration related damage to my vehicle. I’m sure the roadway has been finished at this point. I went to visit on a holiday. This wasn’t the smartest move. When I arrived, there were only a few spots left and people started parking on the side of Wards Beach Access Road. That is the road in and out of the recreation area. I would estimate the combined capacity of the upper and lower lots is ~100 vehicles. Both lots will be on your right when you get to the end of the road. There is also a part of the lower lot that is on the left side. The first lot is the upper one and is the larger parking lot. Since there was no good marked map of The Ledges for naturists, I have made one. You can look it over below.

My visit to The Ledges took place in the summer. The best months to go are May to September. If you go around July and will be there for most of the day, I would recommend wearing some sunscreen. There are quite a few shady spots, but you’ll want to be right at the waterfront for sunbathing. There are all kinds of people visiting here. This includes singles, couples, families, and friends. During my trip here, there were more men than women and the ages ranged from 20s to 70s. For the average person, it should take around 12 minutes to walk from the parking lots to the naturist area. The trail from the clothed area leads to a spot with stepping stones which go across water at the edge of the woods. Next, you will arrive at the sign posted by the Friends of The Ledges naturist group that notifies you of the nude area ahead. This can be seen in the photo below.

I had done some research online before embarking on the drive to this oasis in the Vermont forest. Believe it or not, Vermont is one of the only states in America where public nudity is legal. This is one of the reasons why you can have the waterfront be split between clothed and clothing optional right next to each other. In fact, when I was sunbathing, textiles on paddle boards and small boats crossed over to the nude side. They were able to freely see friendly people enjoying the day while nude. At one point, I was sunbathing on the left side of the shoreline. Right around the separating bend, there was a pair of textile friends in their bathing suits enjoying the day. Nobody minded that our side was nude and their side wasn’t. There was really nothing to worry about. When you’re living the natural life, you have nothing to hide. When textiles see you nude, they’re just seeing the real you. The naturists I encountered were nice. I exchanged greetings with a number of folks. I was surprised at the number of friends hanging out together.

As you can see in the image on the left, the waterfront view is incredible. The forest surrounding the reservoir is lush and rolling in height. The sun shimmers on the calm water. There are many flat rocks you can sit and lie down on along the shoreline. There are also hiking trails which go north until you reach private property. When you get to the end of the main trail, there is a sign which states that “Clothing is required beyond this point.” If you do hike, watch your step. There are lots of rocks and roots. Overall, I would give The Ledges an A rating!

#1: Join Online Nudist Social Sites

Since you’ve found this site, you may have already been searching for ways to virtually meet other nudists. One of the most common complaints I read is that some areas have little to no nudist destinations. This makes it tough for people to interact with others in the wider community. The best alternative is to meet others online. Most social networking sites connected to nudism allow you to see where other users live. Sometimes, you just know that they reside in your country. But many folks will list the province, state, or city they live in. If you live in a fairly populous area such as Miami, Melbourne, or Madrid, you’ll definitely be able to find other nudists who live near you. This allows you to friend those people and start a conversation. A great online friendship could turn into an in-person friendship.

Some of the top sites for nudists are TrueNudists.com, MeWe.com (specific groups), JustNudism.net, and ClothesFree.com. With most of these sites, you can create posts, comment on posts from others, look up events, create a gallery of your pictures, like the pictures of others with emojis, chat, as well as create and join sub-groups. By joining these sites, you can see how nudists from other places and backgrounds live their natural lives and you can share yours. Some sites have robust message boards and group chats with in-depth discussions revolving around nudism. You can voice your opinion and discover new perspectives. If you want to make connections with other nudists in this modern time and keep up-to-date with nudist news, it’s essential that you establish an online identity.

#2: Go to Nudist Resorts and Beaches

When it comes to social nudism, there are quite a few opportunities out there around the world. If you enjoy the sand and surf, the nude beach is the place for you. There’s also no better opportunity to get a suntan. In fact, from the naturist perspective, there’s no reason to wear a swimsuit at the beach. Just lay out your towel and relax nude. Both the breeze and the water will feel better if you aren’t wearing any clothes. Some clothing optional beaches are open to all ages. These are fantastic spots if you have a nudist family. There’s plenty of space for your kids to run free, swim, play games, fly kites, and build sand castles. If you’re a single person, a nude beach can also be a great place to meet other people.

You can find a lot of the same positive qualities of nude beaches at resorts/camps. At clothing optional beaches, there may be people who are not naturists. But at a resort/camp, pretty much everyone lives life nude. Normally, you will get amenities like showers, bathrooms, a pool, a playground, electric hookups, and a general store. There may also be activities set up for kids, dances, BBQs, pool games, and seasonal events. Some resorts will let you visit free or for a reduced fee for a day visit to see if you like the place. Nudist resorts are a way to possibly meet friends for life and get involved socially.

#3: Join a Local Club

Have you ever wondered if there was a group of local nudists who meet up and hang out? It’s possible there is a local non-landed nudist club near you. Non-landed just means it is a group of nudists who agree to meet up at predetermined locations on particular days. You would find a group’s website or social page online and see the general area in which they operate. Normally, there is an annual fee to be a member. Some clubs are 18+ and some are family friendly. Personally, I would never recommend a club that only accepts certain age groups. There might be different membership fees for different age brackets. There may also be a discount if you are a member of AANR. Local clubs tend to organize day visits to outdoor naturist spots or rent a private hotel for weekend events. Belonging to a nudist club is a great way to spend your time off from work socializing with people who live the same lifestyle as you.

#4: Become a Blogger

Do you have a penchant for writing or have experience as a guest columnist? You could put your own nudist voice out there on a blog. It doesn’t matter if you live in Australia, France, Japan, India, Germany, or some other place. Each of us has our own experiences living the natural life. You have access to naturist locales that most people don’t. There may be folks who want to travel to your country and engage in nude tourism. Wouldn’t it be helpful if you wrote a guide or review on your local naturist spot? You can give your own local perspective on a nearby beach, park, or resort. Maybe there are specific public nudity laws, weather peculiarities, or parking spot information that you could share with others. Of course, a nudist blog is also a good opportunity to share some of your own photos to add a personal touch. When it comes to writing about nudist topics, the sky’s the limit. You could talk about your family’s natural journey, how to meet other nudists in your area, your travels to naturist locales in far away places, or even nudist chat sites for your region. If you have the gift of written expression, why not use it to tell others about our wonderful nude life?

#5: Listen to and Guest on Nudist Podcasts

Have you noticed the proliferation lately of podcasts? The average Joe, somewhat known people, and famous folks are all getting on the bandwagon of hosting podcasts on all topics under the sun. Speaking of the sun, what about the nude life? Believe it or not, there are a number of nudism podcasts already out there. You can currently listen to ones like Naked Age (Apple), The New Nudist Podcast (Spotify), and The Naturist Living Show (Apple). If you’re interested in hosting your own podcast, it’s not that difficult to get started. There are plenty of guides out there explaining how to set up your own show on some of the popular podcast sites. The only difference would be that your topic is nudism. Currently, there are not that many podcasts out there focused on our natural lifestyle. If you are not so inclined to host your own show, you could contact the hosts of established shows and inquire about being a guest. There are others out there who would appreciate hearing your take on being a nudist.

Let me ask you a question. Would you rather have your friends and family see the real you or some false identity that you put on every day? I’m assuming you’d rather have everyone see the authentic you. Do you have too many clothes, shoes, and belongings complicating your life? Wouldn’t it be better to have less laundry to do and have more open space in your bedroom? There’s a solution to this dilemma. It’s called nudism or naturism. This is a lifestyle that has been around for a very long time. It is practiced all over the world by people of all ages. It became quite common in Germany around the 1920s and 30s. It also became quite popular in America around the 50s and 60s. Some people call themselves nudists. Others prefer the term naturist. The latter are usually people who love spending time nude in nature. We believe in living a nude life that can be shared with others who live the same way. Most nudists strive to go without clothes and to not be burdened by material things. We can travel to naturist locations like beaches or camps and enjoy non-sexual nudity with like-minded people.

It’s possible that you’re a teen and didn’t even know there are other people your age out there who practice nudism. That’s okay. There are all kinds of upbringings and cultures around the world. You may have seen nudist photos online which just featured adults. That’s probably due to some locations only allowing those 18+ to enter. For example, Hippie Hollow State Park in Austin only allows adult naturists. But Haulover Clothing Optional Beach in Miami allows teens. Most naturist spots in Europe allow all ages to go without clothing. In America, there are many conservative people in local governments and communities who impose or try to impose age limits on outdoor locations which are set up for naturists. Sometimes, when an individual or group try to open a naturist resort or waterside park, local textiles bring up objections to the place opening in their area. Textiles is a term we naturists use to describe those not part of our worldwide natural family. They might claim that it would be immoral for a small group of people to hang out nude on private property. One of the major objections to nudism in one’s community is the idea of kids and teens being nude or young textiles getting a glimpse of naked people. Can you imagine? What if teen boys and girls are playing volleyball, soccer, basketball, or tennis nude? Of course, these objections are laughable. There’s nothing wrong with young people having fun while going all natural. As you can see in the pictures below, these teens are rollerblading and playing soccer and having a great time. Look at the picture of the cornfield and imagine that there is a hidden naturist park inside it. You could go there with your friends from school. It would be a beautiful place and out of sight of textiles. You could sit and talk, sunbathe, play board games, play smart phone games, try body painting, meditate, go on walks, play catch, and take selfies with your friends. It doesn’t matter what the “morality police” think. It’s your right to enjoy the nude life as much as possible. Obviously, you can’t walk into school or your favorite retailer without clothes. But there are places you can be your natural self. One of the best and easiest places to enjoy nudism is at home.

When you’re traveling through your town, you wouldn’t really know if one of your neighbors were nudists. In reality, the family living across the street from you could be living the nude life. It’s hard to know how many nudist families are out there. But it’s more common than you think. Some people grow up in nudist families and continue the lifestyle as they start their own households. Other people discover nudism as teens in textile families. In fact, you may be one of those teens. And that’s totally fine. Your other family members don’t necessarily need to be into the lifestyle for you to try nudism. You can start your nudist journey at home! You should always feel comfortable at home being who you want to be. Start off by being clothes-free in your bedroom. Obviously, this will be easier if no one else is home or you happen to have a lock on your door. One of the ways of getting into your “nudist routine” is sleeping nude every night. This is a good way to start figuring out how your body feels indoors without clothes. You might be comfortable without sheets or blankets or you might feel better under them. You will also notice a difference in how you want the temperature set inside your bedroom. A comfortable temperature might be different for you than it is for me. Personally, I feel just right at around 77 degrees. But what about beyond your bedroom? At first, try roaming around nude at home when you’re home alone. I bet it will feel liberating and nice to enjoy your home naturally. If you end up loving the lifestyle, you will want to consider whether you discuss it with your parents. If you live in a fairly liberal household, your family might actually be okay with you being nude at home. In some textile families, one or two members might walk to and from the shower nude. It’s not really much of a stretch to just walk around the rest of the house or apartment nude. Of course, it will depend on your personal circumstance. For instance, you might be a teen girl living with just a dad and three brothers. In that case, it might not work out. On the other hand, you might have a sister and two “flower child” parents who are okay with nudity at home. Once you are comfortable being nude as much as possible and accept your body, you could try talking to some of your close friends about nudism. You could mention that you think it’s a good lifestyle and see what they think. You never know. You might find that one of your friends is willing to try nudism. Invite them over to your home. Hang out in your bedroom without clothes. Check online and see if there’s a clothing optional beach or park nearby. It’s worth a try. If it doesn’t work out, that’s okay.

If you’re a teen and would like to live a more natural life, the world of nudism is open to you. There’s no need to have a big wardrobe of shirts, pants, dresses, skirts, socks, and underwear. You can own as little as one week’s worth of clothing. Think about how easy that would be for laundry time. Also, it is better for the environment. The more clothes you buy, the more natural resources are used up. When it comes to where to go nude, it will depend on where you live. Most of the nude or clothing optional beaches and waterfronts in the US are in Vermont, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Florida, Texas, and California. There are many nudist resorts and parks all over the country. You can also join some non-landed naturist groups who meet up for special trips or venue rentals. If you live in a rural area, you could try nude hiking in the woods or other outdoor areas. You should pick a place where other people aren’t going to run into you. If you do try nude hiking, you might want to find a friend to go with you who is okay with nudism. As far as joining online naturist communities, your options are currently limited. Most online nudist sites require that you are 18 years old. Some nudist teens post on Twitter and Discord. If you are 16, you can join MeWe. That social networking site allows nude pictures and videos. That’s a great site to connect with other nudists and maybe make friends with other young people who live the natural life. Just be careful about posting too much information. You should keep your full name, address, and some other personal info to yourself. You can join and learn about nudism all over the world. Some of the communities you might want to check out on MeWe are Free Beacher’s, MeWe Naturisme, NUDITY EXPERIENCE, and Celebrating A Naturist World. You may also be able to join our community on Nudist Nation if your birth date is available in the birthday selection on the registration page (not available in all countries). If you do join, we have a group just for you where you can live life clothes-free with other nudist teens. Finally, this lifestyle is for everyone. It doesn’t matter if you’re 14, 19, or 71. Your body shape, weight, skin color, size of body parts, gender, and family background don’t matter. You might have issues with body image due to how you look in clothing. Don’t let your clothes define you. If you enjoy spending time without clothes on, whether it’s at home or on the beach, just go for it! Trust me, you’ll be happier and feeling free while living the nudist lifestyle.

I was traveling around Florida and there was one must see attraction for me: Haulover Beach! Millions of people visit this Miami shoreline every year and I wanted to be one of them. The white sand paired with the beautiful view of the Atlantic make for a relaxing experience. The beach lies along Collins Ave (Florida State Rd A1A) which is where you’ll find luxury condo towers like The Ritz Carlton Residences, Turnberry, and Oceania. The parking lot that is directly across from the nude section of the beach is at 15548 Collins Ave in front of the Haulover Marine Center. There is plenty of parking. The beach opens at 8AM. You cannot pay for parking until then. I went on a weekday morning right after it opened. It cost $6.27 for the whole day! I think that’s a great deal. For comparison, it costs $15 per day during peak season at Gunnison Beach. As indicated in the picture above, you pay via the PayByPhone app on your smartphone. The app is available on both Android and Apple. You just enter in your information and add a credit or debit card to use for payment. You will need to turn on your location so the app can see you are at that parking lot. As long as you are within the posted hours of the beach, you will be able to pay. There is a parking lot patrol that checks each vehicle to make sure they have paid. When you enter in your information into the app, you must list your license plate number. This is how your payment is checked on the ground. The app will ask you for your location code. The code for Haulover Nude Beach parking is 46253.

Once you pay and get your beach items together, you’ll head through the #5 pedestrian tunnel which goes underneath Collins Ave. After you pass through, you’ll pass the restrooms which are in an oval shaped building. From there, walk across the paved walkway slightly to the right. Go down that path. The next thing you’ll see are the beach showers to your left. From there, just walk onto the beach. At this point, you are allowed to disrobe.

You’ll notice lifeguard stands, short wooden fences, and posted signs. There are different sections of Haulover Beach. The section past the wooden fence to your left is the part that goes in front of the luxury towers. That is a regular clothed beach. The area directly in front of the tunnel is the clothing optional part. After the fence to the right, you get to the main clothed section of the beach. The clothing optional section is open to all ages. This part of the beach lies between lifeguard stands #12 and #16. On most days, there is a snack stand. You can also rent a chair for $10 and an umbrella for $15.

Upon first setting foot on the beach, I was impressed by the length of the nude area. There is quite a bit of room. Since I was there just after open, there were only 15 or so other visitors there. I got there early so I could take pictures and record a short episode for my documentary series. The landscape and ocean views are great. As you can see in the photo of me on the left, the beach is next to the luxury tower buildings. The thought had crossed my mind of what the residents think of living within view of a nudist beach. I’m sure a lot of them have been living there for years and are used to seeing nude people from a short distance. Some of them probably go to the nude section. You’ll also notice the lifeguard stand. There are three groups who patrol the beach area: lifeguards, police, and Beach Ambassadors. The latter group are volunteers with South Florida Free Beaches. They can be identified as those wearing a teal colored safari hat with the S.F.F.B. logo and an ID. They talk to visitors and give them information about Haulover and acceptable behavior there.

Haulover is different from some other nude beaches in that it is right off of a busy road. There are all kinds of towers as well nearby stores and restaurants. As you can see in the photo on the right, there is dense foliage which blocks viewing the beach from the street. This beach has everything you need with close parking, chairs and umbrellas for rent, snacks close by, showers, bathrooms, and lifeguards. In my opinion, the best thing about Haulover is that it is family friendly. That’s so important for the future survival of the American naturist movement. Adults need to have a beach like this where they can bring their kids. The younger generation can go here and see how positive and comfortable the naturist lifestyle is. Over a million people visit this beach every year and that includes those from all kinds of backgrounds. Even folks from other countries make it a point to visit here. Haulover’s great reputation is well earned. I give this beach an A+ rating!
